How can I train to win more arm wrestles?
How can I train to win more arm wrestles?
Are there any specific exercises that will strengthen me in particular ways to give me the advantage in an arm wrestle?
It's interesting how people tend to judge who's physically stronger by who wins an arm wrestle.
Are there any specific exercises that will strengthen me in particular ways to give me the advant...
most people that have answered this question so far, have not GOT A CLUE.
exercises that will help you arm wrestling:
curls, pull-ups/chin-ups, rows.
your bicep is one critical muscle in arm wrestle.
- the pectoral muscles have no part in arm wrestling.
- work your forearm:
wrist curls
pick up heavy weights and hold them for as long as you can (5 seconds or so is the most you should be able to hold this weight.
buy some captain of crush grippers or other brand that will strengthen your grip.
DEADLIFTS
for your rotator cuff in your shoulder do uh, just seach for rotator cuff exercises. idk what kind of resources you have
im not tryin to boast but i kill everyone in arm wrestling based on the fact that i have a very strong grip. im not the strongest otherwise but the grip is what sets me apart.
also, idk how you play, but alot of time people will say you cant do certain things during a arm wrestling match. as long as your elbows dont move it doesnt matter. use your body. if your arm is rotating, your body should be moving down the same distance so its almost like your shoulder never rotates. this will also reduce chance of injuring your shoulder. pull their forearm away from the body if you have the strength(unless they cheat by moving their elbow, this will leave them in a vunerable position making your chances ever higher of winning
the first half second usually determines who will win. this means whoever makes the first/quickest move after the start has a much better chance of winning (granted the competitors are somewhat evenly matched)
as far as weight training goes you should train your entire body. more hormones will be released, increasing your gains
so in conclusion, arm wrestling is more about technique than it is anything else. strength will help you but if you dont have the technique down prepared to get . hope i helped a bit good luck
