  I am building a wakeboard rail and need some plastic cover for the top that can be slid on. I bought some thin plastic sheeting at Lowe's but it ripped the first time we slid across it. I would really like some 1/4 inch PVC sheeting, but that stuff can be pretty expensive. Does anyone have any scrap PVC sheets or any ideas for another way to make a slick, solid and durable surface for the top of my slider?

  We are looking for a beginner guitar, but one that is good enough for a serious beginner, not a piece of junk for people who are just dabbling.

  My daughter taught herself to play the piano and is now interested in learning guitar. I believe her when she says she will take it seriously and stick with it. I will be paying for the lessons, but she will be buying the guitar herself.

  Questions: where should we buy it? do we need to get her fitted? how much should she expect to spend (she's budgeted around $100 babysitting money--is that reasonable)? any certain brands to look for or avoid?

  This is her own money, so it's especially important to choose wisely. Thanks!
