As long as everyone is on here having a good time, Splore would like to announce a photography contest. (There will be more contests, so check back!)
Post your best seasonal photo to this Splore between now and December 26th (winter, family tradition, Christmas, holiday foods, etc.). On December 28th, the photos will be presented to a panel of judges. Although the judges will take into account framing and lighting and other elements of style, ultimately, they will choose the winner based on the photo that "captures the season best."
Rules: (1) send original photos which you personally took. (2) Post them to this splore by midnight of December 26th. (3) Each user may post up to three photos. (4) If you want to change one for a different picture, go ahead--up until the contest closes at midnight. (5) Do not post anonymously if you want to win. (6) Photoshopping for enhancement is allowed, but the photos should not be significantly altered or "faked."
The prize is a $20 Visa gift card. Please invite your facebook friends to come see your photos and submit their own by clicking the link "invite others to join" and posting this splore to your wall or inviting friends individually.
(Any photos I personally post are for your enjoyment only, and are not entries into the contest.)
Not to be obvious here, but it's that time of year. I'm hoping to make some resolutions I can stick with beyond the first month or so.
I haven't decided for sure yet, but what resolutions/changes are you hoping to make this year?
And a side question: do you believe in resolutions? Are they worth making?
What promise have you made to yourself that you will make a serious effort to do something that you should do? What helps you keep resolutions? How important are resolutions to you? What resolutions have you made that changed your life? What quotes about making personal changes are inspiring to you?
Does anyone else think that Santa sounds a little creepy? Let's think about the facts for a second... He knows A. If you've been bad or or good, and B. If you are sleeping?!?!? that seems a bit odd, for an eternal-lived saint to be knowing exactly what your kids (or you if you're a kid) are doing... Let's see, bribing children to improve their behavior... Also, teaching them that if you're good for the month or two before a reward, and just cover all the bad things you did before, you'll be treated like a saint? Just wondering your personal thoughts on this matter...
