NPR or Glenn Beck?

About this Splore

I listen to NPR and to conservative media pundits. NPR is supposed to be objective, but they're not. Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh don't even pretend, and so much of what they say is over the top. What is your opinion? Who do you like more, and which do you think is more accurate with their facts?

Rush

Used to like Glenn Beck - mostly for entertainment value - but he's gone off the reservation of late, at least for my tastes. Rush has got a crazy ego, but still think he's as grounded as any conservative at this point.

NPR and NY Times

Recently I was listening to an NPR piece on energy/environment issues, and I got so frustrated that they didn't even address the economic issues involved. The result was a very misleading report. And yesterday the NY Times had a big special section on energy issues (addressing oil supplies), but the journalism was terrible, ignoring and mischaracterizing facts that run counter to the journalist's conclusions.
It drives me nuts. Does presenting accurate and complete facts even matter to the people who give news these days?

I like the BBC.

Sometimes they're smug or sniggery, but they don't have as much of a reason to push one point or the other. You get the news.

Glen Beck is someone I just can't listen to. I listen to NPR all the time, but not without a critical ear. They are biased and it shows, but at least they don't YELL everything. When they did a news report of political candidates, they interviewed "people on the street" following their report. The people they chose for the more liberal candidate were able to speak clearly. The one guy speaking in favor of the more conservative candidate was a blathering idiot. It just makes them (NPR) look bad to pull stuff like that. Seriously, listen to who they choose to interview in their reports. They do this stuff all the time, and not just for politics.

Glenn Beck.

Not everything he says, but I do enjoy watching him.

I think they are all accurate with their "facts". It's the context, the facts they leave out or ignore that make the biggest difference.

Or whether the facts are current. Context and timing.
