Cabel camera rig .. How to?

About this Splore

I am trying to build a cable rig for my 7D video camera. The idea is that I can attach the camera to a platform with pulley wheels and have it runn the length of the cable. This gives the effect that yiu are following the object as it moves through the frame.

This is a 2 part splore...
1. Does anyone in winter haven/ Lakeland have any interest or experience in building a camera rig? Would you like to work on one?

2. Does any one have any parts for a cable system for sale?
Ie. Thin line of steal cable, pullies, remote pan and tilt heads, nuts and bolts

Recently a friend and I snuck into an abandoned home that is near where I was to take some pictures. What we found was actually pretty interesting and CREEPY. I have a waterproof came a that sank 20 ft to the bottom of my spring fed lake. I have a general idea with in 40ft where it is. I would like to scuba dive in the lake and find it... I just need some gear or someone interested in helping me find it. A case of beer and cash prize available if we find it. Case of beer for even trying!

Any other ideas please post. I might just try a long hose and some rocks in my pockets..

But not with any controls. Mine is just a set the camera angle and let it run the line, Here is a little test we did. It isnt overhead (yet!) but still worked ok. And the camera was fogged up like crazy...but its a start! Hoping to have it working for the next video. If you log in you can watch it, theyr not "in sponsor" so its private.
